youth X change
"youth X change" (YXC) is a teaching material for environmental education that was developed by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). Prepared for the "UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development" (2005 to 2014), it was translated into 20 languages worldwide by 2008 and is currently used in educational settings. Primarily targeting young people aged 15 to 25, its chief purpose is to provide opportunities to consider lifestyles and consumption patterns for a sustainable world.
We became the first Japanese company to co-sponsor YXC as part of our support for environmental education. We even prepared YXC's Japanese-language version, which can be viewed on this website (for the English version, please click on tjhe link to the UNEP website).

"kids X change" is a learning material for schoolchildren that we developed based on YXC. It is intended for children in the fourth to sixth grades of Japan's primary schools. We designed kids X change with supervision from actual classroom teachers so that it can be used in environmental education that takes place within everyday lessons. Through kids X change, children can learn about topics that affect the entire planet-including global warming, energy, resources, water, waste, and consumption-as part of existing classroom subjects. Since we began supporting classroom instruction in 2008 until the present day, some 5,000 children in 80 schools have taken part in lessons using this material. If you an interest in using kids X change in your lessons, please contact the office provided below.
Please note that an English-language version of kids X change is also available for use by children at the upper middle school to high school levels. Please download it from the link provided.
