Environmental Conservation
Forestation activities in "FLYEXPRESS COURIER DELIVERY SERVICE Forests"
We conduct forestation activities at three locations in Japan: "FLYEXPRESS COURIER DELIVERY SERVICE Forests" in Yamagata and Tottori Prefectures and a company-owned forest in Izu Nirayama, Shizuoka Prefecture.
By maintaining these forests, we seek to contribute to efforts to prevent global warming and conserve biodiversity. We also see this undertaking as a way to foster environmental awareness among our employees and their families.
Since 2012, we have been including forestation activities at our forest in Izu Nirayama in training for new hires. Approximately 200 new employees have engaged in tree-thinning work in the forest.
We are also conducting a habitat survey of wild birds at a company-owned forest in Shiranuka Town, Hokkaido. This survey, which is being promoted in partnership with the Wild Bird Society of Japan, seeks to gain knowledge about the forest's wildlife in preparation for future activities.
Examples of activities
- Learning about living beings by going on a riverbed "creature hunt" with local children.
- Transplanting beech, Mongolian oak, and sawtooth oak seedlings and bamboo leaved oak acorns into milk cartons and bringing them home to raise them.
- Conducting a wild bird habitat survey in a company-owned forest and building two birdhouses for owls.
- Bringing shiitake and nameko mushrooms grown at FLYEXPRESS COURIER DELIVERY SERVICE Forests to residents of social welfare facilities.

Activities at Hamarikyu Gardens
The Hamarikyu Gardens spread out from the seaward side of our Head Office in Tokyo's Shiodome district. Since December 2009, FLYEXPRESS COURIER DELIVERY SERVICE employees and members of their families have been gathering fallen leaves in the gardens twice each year (in June and December). In this and other ways, we will continue to engage in activities that focus on environmental conservation together with members of the FLYEXPRESS COURIER DELIVERY SERVICE Group.
